Each of the planets in our solar system represent different archetypal needs. In your personal life, the planetary needs are further defined by the astrological sign in which they are found as well as how the planets are arranged in your birth chart. Some of their needs are pretty obvious while some are not.

As you know from your own life, needs can be quite complex and/or hard to identify and address. This can be due to the zodiacal sign in which your planets are found and further compounded by many other astrological factors as well as family, personal relationships and any trauma, addiction, mental health issues.

Using the visual imagery and basic formula from AstroTheatreTM(app available from Apple Store), I have created a slide listing the needs for each of the planets. I will be posting one planet per week.

These slides are meant to provide a simple astrological vocabulary upon which you can build a solid framework for/of the planets through the signs. I encourage you to increase your range of understanding as well as the words that characterize each of the different parts of astrology. For example, in addition to the needs stated in the table below, the Leo Sun likes to be playful, creative and have fun which seems antithetical to the need to be bold and regal.

As you gather more words to describe each of the various parts of astrology, you gain the ability to perceive and identify nuanced expressions.  You will also be able to synthesize seemingly complex and antithetical ideas that otherwise make no sense into a cohesive and sensible whole.

Each of us individualizes and continue to determine how we like to express our planets in their respective signs as we mature. The following table shows each planet and their basic respective needs:

PlanetNeed

MoonTo Feel, Nurture
MercuryTo Communicate, Move, Process
VenusTo Value, Love
MarsTo Desire, Drive, Insert

Planets have needs, too

Last week, I sent out the first in the series with the Sun:

Look at your astrological Sun sign and see if you are giving it what it needs to be happy. How do you Shine? How are you be-ing?

These will also give you a good means to check if each of your planetary needs are being expressed and, if not, make some changes so they –and you—are more content.
